Edward J. Kobetich, 65, died Jan. 15, 2007, at his home, Hutchinson.
He was born Oct. 8, 1941, in Clay Center, the son of John Edward and Hilda I. Ayres Kobetich. In 1959, he graduated from Abilene High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University and a master's degree and doctorate from the University of Nebraska, and an MBA from University of Pennsylvania. A resident of Hutchinson, formerly of Ann Arbor, Mich., he was in executive management in research and development of Toyota Motor Co., Ann Arbor, Mich.
He belonged to Crestview Bible Church.
On June 11, 1977, he married Jane Ella Birney in Newark, Del. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Randall, West Chester, Pa., and Bradley, Hendersonville, Tenn.; two daughters, Jenice Bragg, Bear, Del., and Dawn Deckman, Rising Sun, Md.; a sister, Ann Kaufman, Moundridge; two nephews, Alan Kendall, Minneapolis, Kan., and Michael Kendall, Longford; 11 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastors Ray Kempel and Phil Auxier presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. today, Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. His body was donated to the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
