Edward Lee "Ed" Dobkins, 77, died June 7, 2025, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler.  He was born December 28, 1947, in Abilene, to Francis E. and Virginia C. Dobkins.

Ed graduated from Abilene High School in 1966. He immediately joined the United States Navy, where he served from July 1966 to April 1970. Ed was a simple man, and currently the owner of Dobkins Drill Systems, Inc. He enjoyed camping, hang gliding, attending Kansas State football games, and traveling with his wife, Mary Beth.  Above all, Ed cherished time spent with his two grandchildren, and supporting them in their endeavors.

In January 1984, he married Mary Beth Tomlinson, in Hutchinson.

Ed is survived by:  his wife of 40 years, Mary Beth Dobkins; son, Eric Stambaugh (Amanda); grandson, Ethan Stambaugh, all of Hutchinson; brother, Robert Allen Dobkins; and sister, Alda Lucinda Loreg.  He is also survived by his four-legged companion, Mellow.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Haven Sue Stambaugh.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, at Elliott Chapel with Wayne DeWindt officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS  67501.
