Obituary

Edward Allen Maness, 73, died Feb. 21, 2013, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born June 6, 1939, in Stark City, Mo., to Nelson and Florence (Donovan) Maness.

Ed graduated from Midway High School in 1957 and then joined the U.S. Army. He was a construction worker. He married Beverly Kay Shuck on June 26, 1960, in Burdett, Kan. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Mark Maness and wife Karen and David Maness and wife Marsha, of Hutchinson; daughter, Annette Brosius and husband Eric of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brother, Bob Maness of Neosho, Mo.; two sisters, Glenda Justice and husband Mark of Ozark, Mo., and Louise Faules and husband Jerry of Neosho, Mo.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Diana Waddell officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be made to Rivercross Hospice in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson KS 67501.

The memorial service for Edward Maness has been rescheduled. It will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Diana Waddell officiating. Military honors will be provided by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Rivercross Hospice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson KS 67501.
