Edward Charles Nathanial Swanson, 98, died December 5, 2012, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, KS. He was born March 1, 1914, to Charles Aaron and Charlotta Julia Peterson Swanson in Orion, IL. On April 6, 1940, he married Lola Marie Shook in Alden KS. She died January 6, 1989. Edward was a shipping clerk for Packaging Corp. of America and a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include: son, Charles Swanson and wife Nancy, Denver CO; daughters, Jane Howard, Hutchinson, KS, Ginger Angone and husband the Rev. Dr. Lewis, Centennial, CO; grandchildren, Paul Angone, CA, Chad Angone, CO, Terry Howard, Chris Howard, Traci Howard, all of Hutchinson; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Elmer, Russell and George Swanson, and sister, Inez Koch.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday December 13, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. Lewis Angone presiding. Friends may call Wednesday December 12, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family to receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
