Edward W. Parris' Obituary
Edward Walker Parris, 64, died April 12, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Dec. 24, 1943, in Lubbock, Texas, the son of Olin Worthing and Velma Lee Parker Parris. He had lived in Pratt for 15 years, moving to Hutchinson in 2007. He was the general manager of Ninnescah Rural Electric, Pratt, retiring in 2004, with 15 years of service.
He had attended the First Southern Baptist Church, Hutchinson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
On July 28, 1990, he married Mary J. Muncy in Elephant Butte, N.M. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Timothy Parris, Abilene, Texas, and Zachariah Parris, Pratt; two daughters, Whitney and Alan Eady, Carrollton, Texas, and Rachel Parris, Manhattan; and grandchildren, Nathan and HannaEady, and Krista Parris.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, with Pastor Steven Kelley presiding. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be sent to the Pratt Humane Society, in care of the mortuary.
