Edward K. 'Tex' Garoutte, 82, of Hutchinson, died November 26, 2023, at his home. He was born April 5, 1941, in Bell, California, to Noah E. and Hazel G. (Buckner) Garoutte.

Eddie was a dispatcher and a truck driver. He loved long road trips, whether for work or pleasure, driving was his passion. In his spare time, he also enjoyed fishing.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

On April 27, 1960, he married Evelyn E. Parker, in Harrison, AR. They shared over 63 years of marriage before his passing.

Eddie is survived by his: wife, Evelyn Garoutte, of Hutchinson; children, Mandie Garoutte, Mark Garoutte, and Allan (Mary) Garoutte, all of Hutchinson; sisters, Shirley Kahmeyer, of Pretty Prairie, KS, and Kathy Maples, of Highlandville, MO; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Ryan Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, in Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary.
