Edward "Mark" Young, 42, died Aug. 25, 2011, at University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora, Colo. He was born March 26, 1969, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Mark graduated from Rush Springs High School, Rush Springs, Okla., in 1989, and attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Hutchinson Community College. He served in the United States Navy from 1990 to 1993. Mark worked at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility, first as a K-9 Officer and then as an Electronic Technologist. He was a member of the Midwest Bass Masters and enjoyed taking his sons fishing.
He is survived by two sons, Cade Young and Canyon Young, both of the home; siblings, Brandy Moser and husband Tony of Dennison, Texas, James M. Young of Durant, Okla., and Joyce Hogue and Joann Young, both of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Inez Sanders.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Andy Addis presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Monday and Tuesday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard and the Hutchinson Correctional Facility Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to The Lung Connection, in care of the mortuary.
