Edwin Eugene Dale Sr., 89, of Plevna, died August 23, 2026, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler. He was born July 3, 1937, in Hutchinson, to Carl E. and Opal R. (Banks) Dale.

Edwin worked as a painter for Schmitt Enterprises for many years before starting his own business, Dale’s Painting, which he operated for 20 years. Edwin was also a welder and worked for Superior Boiler and many local farmers. He loved hunting and fishing. But most of all, Edwin loved family gatherings and was always asking about having a picnic/cookout. He was a member of Abbyville Community Church.

On January 10, 1956, Edwin married Audean A. Crenshaw, in Hutchinson. They shared over 70 years of marriage before his passing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Audean; children, Donna Leslie of Partridge, Edwin Dale Jr. and wife Vickey of Partridge, Ronnie Dale and wife Michelle of Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; 20+ great-grandchildren; brother, Nolan Dale of Hutchinson; many extended family members; and beloved Chiweenies, Ellie and Rosie.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marla Rogge; brothers, Lawrence, Bill, Adair; and sister, Wilma McElhaney.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Abbyville Community Church, 201 W. Avenue G, Abbyville. Inurnment will follow in Abbyville Cemetery.

Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday thru Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
