Edwin L. "Ed" Tomlin Jr., 46, died Jan. 4, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born July 6, 1961, in Hutchinson, the son of Judith Ann Lemen Tomlin. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, he attended Hutchinson High School. He was a journeyman carpenter, recently working at an ethanol plant in Iowa.

Before the end, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He participated in many toy runs throughout Kansas.

Survivors include: three sisters, Robin Early, Dalton, Ga., Susan Barton, Moundridge, and Michelle Canter, Hutchinson; nephews and nieces, Christopher, Tiffany, Yolanda, Patrick, Lane, Corey, Faith, Blake, Blade, Maggey and Massey.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Thomas Lincoln Tomlin, Elaine Baker, and Samuel and Mabel Eska Lemen.

Cremation has taken place.

The family invites friends to meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Carey Park Zoo, Hutchinson, and will travel together to The Father's House, 1505 E. 20th, for a 2:30 p.m. celebration in honor of Eddie, with lunch to follow.

Memorials may be sent to Toys for Tots, the American Legion for the Patriot Guard or the Disabled American Veterans, in care of Elliott Mortuary.
