SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Edythe E. White, 99, died Dec. 30, 2006, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
She was born July 13, 1907, in Chase, the daughter of Harry N. and Jennie E. Gockstetter Marshall. She was a graduate of Emporia State Teachers College. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she was a homemaker and former school teacher.
She belonged to First Christian Church and the Salt Shakers Camping Club.
On March 3, 1935, she married Howard Kenneth White in Miami, Okla. He died Aug. 25, 1989.
Survivors include: two sons, James D., Osaka, Japan, and Marshall, Hutchinson; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen and Cecil Marshall; and a sister, Louise Wilkens; and a grandson.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Randall Turner presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Casket will be open and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
