Eileen (Fowler) Cottle, of Wesley Towers in Hutchinson, passed away on November 22, 2018, at the age of 102. Eileen was born June 29, 1916, in Little River, KS to Walter and Lillie Sargent. Lillie passed away in 1929 and Walter later married Ellen German. Eileen graduated from Hutchinson High School. She attended Salt City Business School and worked as a telephone operator.
Eileen married Gerald Fowler in 1937 and the couple moved to Pampa, TX. They also lived in Houston, TX, before returning to Hutchinson in 1945. Gerald died in 1970.
Eileen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 70 years. She worked as a teller for various local savings and loans, until she retired in 1992, when she married Art Cottle. Art passed away in March, 2002. Eileen moved to Wesley Towers in 2013.
Eileen was also preceded in death by: her brother, Olen Sargent; granddaughter, Jill Fowler; and grandson, Kevin Fowler. She is survived by: her three sons, Gary (Jeanene) Fowler of Wheaton, IL, James Fowler of Rose Hill, KS and Robert (Amy) Fowler of Overland Park, KS.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018, in the Hester Chapel, located at Trinity United Methodist Church, 17th and Main, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
