SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Eldon W. "Buzz" Eagles, 88, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Hoisington, Kansas, made a peaceful transition from this life to the next at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday April 7, 2008, in the Manor at Elfindale, Springfield, Mo. Buzz joins the love of his life for over 60 years, Elsie, who passed away April 17, 2007. He was born April 13, 1919, in Nickerson. He was united in marriage on June 28, 1947, to Elsie K. Herdt, of Hoisington, Kansas. They had a wonderful life together.

Buzz was a parts manager for the Ford Tractor dealers in Great Bend and Hutchinson. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Buzz was a kind man who touched many lives with his sense of humor and friendly nature. He will be missed by all who knew him. He had been a resident of the Manor of Elfindale in Springfield since July 2007.

He is survived by two sons, Fred Eagles and Faith Nelson, Springfield, and Dale Eagles, Hutchinson; a sister, June Lowery, Lincoln, Neb.; a daughter-in-law, Karen Eagles, Springfield; and several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Duane A. Eagles.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, Kansas, under the direction of Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Hoisington Cemetery, Hoisington, Kansas.
