Eleanor M. VanCampen, 85, died May 30, 2013, at Mennonite Friendship Communities. She was born May 2, 1928, in Holyrood, to Felix Z. and Emma B. (Heesch) Lanzl.
A 1945 graduate of Holyrood High School, she attended Adela Hale Business School in Hutchinson. She was a clerk in the Reno County Treasurer's Office Tag Department for 12 years and a homemaker.
Eleanor married Francis W. VanCampen on July 19, 1948, in Hutchinson. He died March 25, 2009.
Survivors include: two sons, Jerry D. VanCampen of Hutchinson and Jimmy D. VanCampen and wife Patty of Holcomb; brother, Edgar E. Lanzl, Holyrood; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Ted VanCampen; and a sister, Betty Maske.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2013, at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday with the family to receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
