Ella Mae Schwartz, 92, died Sept. 25, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born May 28, 1924, in Offerle, to Fred and Lydia (Brecheisen) Krenzin. She graduated from Nickerson High School in 1941. Ella Mae was a member of First United Methodist Church, Chime Ringers, United Methodist Women, and Women of the Moose Hutchinson Chapter #1371. She was a homemaker and retired from the Credit Bureau of Hutchinson in 1986.

On Nov. 28, 1946, she married Walter C. Schwartz in rural Nickerson. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2002. Ella Mae is survived by: daughters, Shirley Basgall, Vickie Pearce and husband Lew; son, Danny Schwartz and wife Rita, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, James Basgall of Hutchinson, Julie Garcia and husband Alex of Phelan, CA, Stacy Smith and husband Scott of Hutchinson, Amy Kraft and husband Ben of Burrton, Kimberly Rice of Wichita; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Garcia of Phelan, CA, Andrew Smith, Brianna Rice, Christian Miller, Breck Rincon, all of Hutchinson, Eli, Zeke, and Marley Kraft, all of Burrton; numerous step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step great great-grandchildren; and seven nieces. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harvey Krenzin; sister, Eva Spessard; and son-in-law, Robert Basgall.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, with Reverend Jeff Slater officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. all at Elliott Mortuary.
