Elmer Paul Boger, 94, passed away on April 28, 2015, of natural causes at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Elmer was born Sept. 7, 1920, in Hoisington, to Paul and Emelia (Stettinger) Boger.
He grew up on his family farm outside Hoisington. Elmer graduated from Hoisington High School in 1940, and continued to run the farm. He raised cattle and harvested wheat until moving into Hutchinson at the age of 85. Elmer was a salt of the earth farmer and his passion was living off the land. Elmer was preceded in death by: his parents, Paul and Emelia Boger. He is survived by: his brother, Lester Boger of Hutchinson; nephew, Dale Boger and wife Karen of La Jolla, Calif.; niece, Marlene Showalter of Topeka; great-nephew, Thomas Showalter of Kansas City, Mo.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, in Hoisington Cemetery, with Garry Dassow presiding.
