Elmer Lloyd Holmes' Obituary
PLEVNA - Elmer Lloyd Holmes, 95, died Oct. 8, 2011.
He was born Dec. 28, 1915, in Plevna, the son of Murray and Elizabeth Nusser Holmes.
He was a farmer in the Plevna community.
He met Vina Hamm at Sterling College and they married Sept. 18, 1948. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Syd and wife Mary, Hutchinson, and Melford, Plevna.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alberta Fitzpatrick and Arlene Prettyman.
Family graveside will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Pleasant View Cemetery, Huntsville, with Pastor Steve Gill officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Plevna Community Bible Church or the Alzheimer's Association, in care of the mortuary.
