Elmer Knight, 86, died April 1, 2014, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was born Aug. 21, 1927, in Miller, Mo., to Bert and Evelyn Ball Knight.

On May 10, 1948, Elmer married Joan Shirley Blue in Hutchinson, Kan. She survives. Elmer was a member of South Hutchinson Christian Church. He retired from Winchester's as a butcher in 1985, and owned and operated Central Live Stock Auction and Sale Barn Restaurant with his wife Joan for 27 years. Other survivors include: daughters, Shelly Sellers and husband Scott of Overland Park, Becky Winstead and husband John of Broken Arrow, Okla.; son-in-law, Galord Smith of St. Charles, Mo.; grandchildren, Bradley Smith, Corey Smith, Trae Winstead, Nathan Winstead, Tiffany Seller-Johnson and husband Charles, Tyler Sellers; and nine siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Shirley Smith; and six siblings. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at South Hutchinson Christian Church, South Hutchinson, with Pastor Jeff Arnold presiding. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
