Obituary

Elsie Mae Graber, 97, died January 11, 2014, at Hospice House. She was born August 9, 1916, in Elyria, KS to Ernest and Alvina (Kaufman) Juhnke. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1935. Elsie was a member of First Mennonite Church in Pretty Prairie.

She married Lawrence E. Graber on November 23, 1941, in Pretty Prairie. He died November 25, 2005.

Survivors include: son, Myron Graber and wife Donna, Jefferson City, MO; two daughters, Bernice Rutz and husband Ken, Greeley, CO and Barbara McGowan and husband Mike, Hutchinson; sister, Martha Kaufman and husband Harold, Moundridge; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Elsie was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, William, Carl, Walt and John; sisters, Emma, Anna, Alvina, and Marie.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at First Mennonite Church, 1718 West Pretty Prairie Road, with Pastor David Denlinger and the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday with the family to receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the First Mennonite Church, Dillon Living Center, or Hospice House, all in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, Ks, 67501.
