Elsie Marie Halpain, 75, passed away August 21, 2012 at Hospice House. She was born April 14, 1937 in Winfield. Elsie graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1955. She then earned her Bachelors Degree from Wichita State University in 1974, graduating with honors. On October 23, 1955, she married Charles Duane Halpain in Hutchinson.

A member of Countryside Baptist Church, she was a retired kindergarten teacher. Elsie belonged to Christian Women's Club and HARSPA, a retired teachers association.

Survivors include her husband: Duane Halpain, Hutchinson; four daughters: Sheryl Goertz, Hutchinson; Cindy Posten and husband Phil, Topeka; Lori Klassen and husband Ramon, Inman; Stephanie Rempe and husband Jerry, Hutchinson; six grandsons: John Posten; Ryan Klassen and wife Liz; David Goertz; Matthew Posten, Mitchell Klassen and wife Helena and Jarrod Goertz; brother: Dr. Bill J. Robinson and wife Yvette, Kalispell, MT; sister-in-law: Karen Ninman, Kalispell, MT; aunt, Lorene Caywood and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ada (Peterson) Robinson and a grandson, Joshua Alan Goertz.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at Countryside Baptist Church with Pastor Don Moor officiating. Cremation will follow and a private family inurnment will be at a later date in Eastside Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-9 Thursday with the family to receive friends from 6-8 at Elliott Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Countryside Baptist Church or Hospice House in care of Elliott Mortuary.
