Elsie L Roddy's Obituary
Elsie L. Roddy, 82, died Dec. 19, 2014, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Nov. 1, 1932, in Palco.
She was a homemaker and a Kansas State Fair employee. Elsie was an avid embroiderer, gardener, and loved cooking. On Nov. 28, 1952, she married Steve Roddy in Tucumcari, New Mexico. He died May 3, 2004. Elsie is survived by: son, Douglas Roddy of Hutchinson; daughters, Kathy Humphries and husband Bill of Bartlesville, Okla., Carolyn Roddy of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Haley Roddy, Christy Humphries, Dustin Humphries; and great-grandsons, Jase and Reed Humphries. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and two sisters.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Pastor Andy Addis officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
