Elva P. Bishop, 77, died May 29, 2007, at Good Samaritan Center.
She was born on July 10, 1929, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Charles and Estella Pearl Lewis Kerns, but was raised by her stepfather Bill Metzler and her mother. She was a lifelong resident of Hutchinson. She attended Hutchinson schools. She was a homemaker.
On June 29, 1947, she married Jess A. Bishop in Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Wayne Bishop, Inman; three daughters, Carol Heisler and husband, Mike, Haven, and Connie Constant and husband, Terry, and Christine Rounds and husband, Robin, all of Hutchinson; a brother, Kenny Kerns, Fort Scott; two sisters, Wilma Cross, Hutchinson, and Jessie Turner, Nolanville, Texas; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: four brothers, Alfred, James, Bob and Donald; and a sister, Blanche.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary with Pastor Robert Albin presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 until service time Friday. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
