Emma Lee Banz, 90, died May 1, 2007 at Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Sept. 13, 1916 in ruralAlden, in Rice County, the daughter of Ernest and Mabel Hendricks Monson. She graduated from Nickerson High School in 1933. A resident of Hutchinson since 1948, she worked for Carey Salt Company for 25 years in the accounting department.
She belonged to the First Presbyterian Church and the Dorcas Circle at the church.
On Sept. 29, 1936, she married Edwin C. Banz in Nickerson. He died April 17, 2001.
Survivors include: several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; and great great nieces and great great nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and William "Bill" Monson; and two sisters, Louise Hawkins and Lucille Breece.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Tim Soule presiding. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Sterling Community Cemetery. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Cremation will take place.
