Obituary

Emma Jean Hullet, 97, of South Hutchinson, died August 10, 2026, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born October 29, 1928, in Capron, Oklahoma, to William C. and Emma B. (Erdman) Riecker.

Jean married Edward E. “Ed” Hullet on July 4, 1945, in Alva, Oklahoma. They shared over 75 years of marriage before his death on December 8, 2020.

Ed and Jean moved to Hutchinson when Ed took at job at Cessna. They loved working side by side and operated Beltone Hearing Service for many years and also owned and operated Hullet’s Christmas Tree Farm for 30 years. Jean loved spending time outside on her lawnmower, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Grace Bible Church.

Jean is survived by her children, Sherry Relph, Steve Hullet (Nadine); grandchildren, Amanda Hullet, Bryce Hullet (Amy); great-grandchildren, Noah, Carter, and Sawyer Hullet; step-granddaughter, Heather LacKamp and family; beloved hospice volunteer, Monica Oliva; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; sisters, Ruth Scott, Naomi Thompson, Lucille Rienertz, Gladys Dorrell, Addie Mae Hiatt; and son-in-law, Willie Relph.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in the Fireside Chapel at Grace Bible Church, 1221 E 33rd Ave., Hutchinson. Please use the entrance on the East side of the building.

Private family inurnment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday thru Monday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Bible Church or Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67502.
