HAVEN – Eric Wayne Hulen, 54, died Sept. 5, 2016, at his home in Haven. He was born July 7, 1962, in Hutchinson, to Gene and Ruby (Finch) Hulen.

Eric graduated from Buhler High School in 1980 and attended Vo-Tech schools. He worked in Wichita at Midwest Electric and Machine as an electric motor specialist. Eric enjoyed anything outdoors, watching NASCAR, especially his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon, playing golf with his friends, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a volunteer firefighter for District #9.

Survivors include: son, Derrick Hulen of Haven; daughter, Brynn Ward of Tyler, Texas; and grandchildren, Brayden and Payton Hulen of Haven, Keeli Ward of Lenexa, Keegan and Kyler Ward of Tyler, Texas; niece, Angela Perez of New York; and nephew, Brandon Haas of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Haas.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at Elliott Chapel. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
