Eric Nickelson, 54, died June 27, 2013, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born April 2, 1959, in Wichita, to John Reuben and Neola Mae (Redger) Nickelson.

He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1977 then attended Hutchinson Community College. Eric served in the United States Navy from 1979-1985. He was procurement manager at Collins Bus, having worked there for twenty seven years.

On Aug. 26, 2000, he married Angela Stark in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: his father, John of Wichita; brother, Craig Nickelson of Wichita; sister, Christy Smith of Wichita; two nephews; a niece; two dogs, Cassie and Wyatt; and a cat, Jake. Eric was preceded in death by his mother.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Inurnment will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with military honors by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday through Monday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501
