Erma I. Rowland, 86, died January 2, 2019, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born May 12, 1932, in Quenemo, Kansas, to Wilbur and Gladys (McCreight) Humphrey.

Erma graduated from Pomona High School in 1950 and attended Sterling College. She was a homemaker and farm wife. Erma was actively involved in 4-H and a member of EHU and the 'Red Hat Rambling Roses'. For almost 60 years, Erma was a member of Mitchell United Methodist Chapel.

On September 14, 1956, she married Garnet 'Howard' Rowland in Richter, Kansas. Erma is survived by: husband of 62 years, Howard; children, Kelley Rowland (Renie), Thomas Rowland, all of Hutchinson, Sharon Regier (Rick) of Buhler, Larry Rowland (Kristi) of Lawrence; grandchildren, Hannah and John, Tyson and Kate, Ashley and Garrett, Colton and Annie, and Gabriel; two great-grandchildren, Zoey and Emerson; four sisters; and one brother. She was preceded in death by: her parents and grandsons, Jacob and Samuel.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, at Mitchell United Methodist Chapel, 5512 N. Pennington Road, Hutchinson, with Pastor Jeff Goetzinger officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
