Ernest A. "Ernie" Stohr, 60, died March 30, 2015, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born June 20, 1954, in Wichita, to Leon M. and Lois (Gilchrist) Stohr.
Ernie graduated from Trinity High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in business from McPherson College. He retired from the United States Postal Service. Ernie was a member of Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), and Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 982.
On Dec. 4, 1981, he married Cynthia S. "Cindy" Paton in Kingman. She survives. Other survivors include: sons, Brad Stohr and wife Katie of McPherson, Jeff Stohr of Kansas City, Matt Stohr and wife Heidi of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Michael, Annabelle Stohr, both of McPherson, Andrew Stohr of Hutchinson; brother, Tom Stohr and wife Barbara of Wichita; and sister, Nancy Meyer and husband Andy of Hillsboro, Ore. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Johnson officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
