Esther Marie Current, 73, died March 30, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 6, 1938, in Griggs, Okla., to George and Swanny Twombly.

On May 1, 1959, she married Raymon Bencil Current in Clayton, NM. She retired in 2003 from LR Foy Construction as secretary and payroll clerk.

Survivors include: her husband, Ray of the home; daughter, JoAnn Taylor of Wichita; adoptive mother, Bonnie Sanders of Wichita; three grandchildren, Tracie Lowe and husband Mike of Milan, Kan., Travis Redd of Wichita, and Deserae Nelson and husband Blake of Wichita; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny Walker and wife Sandy of Wichita and Gary Walker and wife Susie of McPherson; niece, Mary Ellen Day and sister-in-law, Mary Current, both of Hutchinson. Esther was preceded in death by her adoptive father, Roy Sanders; and four brothers-in-law, Virgil, George, Omer and Les Current.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Amy Dame officiating. Burial will be at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
