Obituary

Esther E. Hiett, 102, died Sept. 4, 2007 at Wesley Towers Hester Care Center, Hutchinson.

She was born April 18, 1905 in Spring Hill, the daughter of Joe E. and Lillie Hines Wolf. She was a resident of hutchinson since 1927. She attended Haven High School graduating with the class of 1923 and also attended Fairmount College, now Wichita State University, for one year. She was a homemaker.

She belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church, "Together" Sunday School class of the church, Prairie Dunes Country Club, an avid golfer, avid fan of the the KU Jayhawk Basketball Team, huge fan of the Kansas City Royals, and she and her husband enjoyed square dancing for years.

On Aug. 22, 1926 she married Russel H. "Rusty" Hiett in Haven. He died July 11, 1996.

Survivors include: son Bill Hiett and wife Patty, Hutchinson; a daughter Charlene C. Baker, Prairie Village; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a niece, Jan Culp and her husband Sherrill, Kansas City.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William Wolf; two sisters, Cecyl Greiner and Shirl Hiett; and a son-in-law Warren R. Baker in 1975.

Funeral will be ar 11 a.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson with
Chaplain Art Maddock presiding. Visitation will be from 1 t0 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be in Laurel Cemetery, Haven.

Memorials may be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church or Wesley Towers Good Samaritan Fund, both in care of the funeral home.
