Esther Ruth Miller, 87, died Feb. 2, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

She was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Labette County to Charles and Lillie Lawrence Heape.

She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1942. On Dec. 12, 1947, she married Walter Ellis Miller in Jennings, MO. He died Nov. 30, 1974.

She was a homemaker and had worked in Central Supply at St. Elizabeth, Grace and Hutchinson Hospitals for over 20 years.

Survivors include: three sons, Chester R. and wife Jolene, Daryl L. and wife Kathleen, Scott A. and wife Candy, all of Hutchinson; five grandchildren, Valerie Flores and husband Dan, Christen Ford, Jennifer, Jason and Emma Miller; 4 great-granddaughters; two sisters, Alpha Myers, Hutchinson, and Opal Hatch, Bentonville, Ark. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Elmer and Charles Heape; four sisters, Ethel Dunham, Alma Jean Miller, Estella Nevitt and Dorothy Kaufman.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Fairlawn Burial Park Mausoleum, with Pastor Onie Cooper officiating. The casket will remain closed. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Reno County, in care of the mortuary.
