Esther M. Neufeld's Obituary
Esther Mary Neufeld, 79, died March 3, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Oct. 13, 1926, in Inman, the daughter of John F. and Eva Scherling Neufeld. She graduated from Inman High School. A resident of Hutchinson from 1948 to 1959, then moving to Wichita until 1995, she resided in Buhler Sunshine Home for five years, and then Good Samaritan Center for five years. She was a telephone operator for 35 years at Southwestern Bell until retiring in 1983.
She belonged to the Telephone Pioneers Club.
Survivors include: two brothers, Ike and wife Mildred Neufeld, Arlington, and Dan S. Neufeld, Medora; two sister-in-laws, Jewel Neufeld and Orlean Neufeld, both of Hutchinson; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Abe and Raymond.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the North Inman Cemetery, with Pastor Matt Stafford presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to Buhler Sunshine Home or to the Good Samaritan Center, both in care of the funeral home.
