ABBYVILLE - Esther E. Wagler, 100, died Jan. 16, 2009, at Pleasant View Home, Inman.

She was born Oct. 7, 1908, in Plevna, the daughter of Ernest and Leah Oyer Krenzin.

She had been a longtime Plevna and Abbyville community resident. She was a homemaker, farm wife, and caregiver to many.

She belonged to the Sterling Evangelical Bible Church.

On Sept. 9, 1928, she married John R. Wagler in Hutchinson. He died May 27, 1975.

Survivors include: three sons, Charles and wife Pat, Sterling, Raymond and wife Sue, South Hutchinson, and Glenn, Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, Stan and Kathy Wagler, Sue and Lowell Entz, Jim Wagler, Shelly and Baron Clifford, Joel and Dara Wagler, Jon Wagler, and Cristie Wagler; six great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lurlene Wagler, three brothers, Homer, Myron, and Ernest Krenzin, Jr., and a sister, Ina Krenzin.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday Jan. 24, 2009, at Sterling Evangelical Bible Church, Sterling, with Chaplain Lowell Entz and Pastor Tim Elsner presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday Jan. 23, 2009. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
