Ethelda Gordon "Cookie" Beer, 94, died December 22, 2014, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born July 29, 1920, to Charles and Margaret (Purcell) Gough in Owensboro, Ky. She was a member of First Baptist Church. In 1985, she retired as a Clerk for the Reno County Treasurers office. On every Tuesday you would find "Cookie" at Delos V. Smith Senior Center playing Bingo.

On December 31, 1939, she married Leonard Duane Beer in Hutchinson. He died January 24, 1981.

Survivors include: sons, Darrel Beer, Robert Beer and wife Peggy, both of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Andrea Beer, Robert Mitchell Beer, Corey Beer and wife Michelle, and Emily Beer; step-granddaughter, Angie Mooney-D'Arcy; great-grandchildren, Elliott Beer, Isabel Beer, Teran Beer, and Caden Faucett; sisters, Rachel Toland and husband Marion of Marion, KS, and Patty Stucky and husband Junior of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bill, Ray, Chuck, and Fred Gough, sisters, Jo Coehn, Toby Gough, Maxine Manderville, and Katie Ketchum.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Tyler Vance presiding. Burial will be in Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson.
