SOUTH HUTCHINSON, KANSAS – Eugene R. Swank, 74, died Dec. 16, 2009 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, KS. He was born Oct. 29, 1935 in Hutchinson to Ray and Louise Emily Parker Swank.

He was a lead man in cabin service for United Airlines. He and Doris spent the last 34 years in Washington, moving to South Hutchinson six months ago from Camas, WA.

On June 24, 1975 he married Doris A. Swank in Fredonia, KS. She survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Douglas Swank and wife Sheri, Camas, WA, Randy and Stacy Swank, both of Hutchinson and J.D. Swank and Katrina, Vancouver, WA; two daughters, Marcia Brown and husband Allen, Hutchinson, KS and Susan Garland and husband Archie, Vancouver, WA; three brothers, Vernon Swank, South Hutchinson, KS, Floyd Swank and wife Sarah, Tulsa, OK, Paul Swank, Nickerson, KS; two sisters, Beth Gordon and husband Eddie, Hutchinson, KS and Ruth Muth and husband Darren, Longmont, CO; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Mark R. Swank.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-9 Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
