Obituary

Eunice Lee Bartcher, 89, died Nov. 4, 2010, at her home.

She was born Aug. 12, 1921, in Nickerson to Roy Elmer and Opal Virginia Mummey Hoffman.

Eunice graduated from Nickerson High School in 1939 and later from Adela Hale Business College. She was a member of American Legion Women's Auxiliary Unit #68 and Women of the Moose Hutchinson Chapter #1371. She was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Eunice married Frank Wiegel, who died April 7, 1945. She then married Bernard Joseph Bartcher. He died Dec. 6, 1982.

Survivors include: a daughter, Rene Bartcher, Grand Prairie, Texas; a son, Ronald Bartcher, Mims, Fla; three sisters, Phyllis McNaul, McPherson, Dolores Mowrey and Betty Golden, both of Hutchinson; three grandchildren, Ron Lackey and wife Joely, Kimberly Zielke and husband Jeff, Tisha Lackey and husband Angus Jenkins; five great grandchildren, Madison and Morgan Lackey, Austin, Jacob and Chelsea Zielke.

Eunice was preceded in death by a brother Leroy Hoffman.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Reverend Jim Rhaesa officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
