Eva C. Bock, 71, of Hutchinson, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Nov. 28, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born July 19, 1945, in Ogallala, Nebraska, to Phillip and Victoria (Jimenez) Galaviz.
Eva graduated from Brule High School in Brule, Nebraska, in 1963. She attended Duchesne College in Omaha, Nebraska, and Hutchinson Community College, majoring in business. Her career was primarily in the hospitality industry. She retired from the Hutchinson Correctional Facility in April 2010, where she worked in purchasing. Eva was a member of Park Place Christian Church, Disciples Women, and was coordinator for the prayer chain.
On June 6, 1992, she married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) J. Bock, in Hutchinson. They shared 24 years of marriage. He survives.
Other survivors include: daughter, Debra Hunt and husband; sons, Patrick Hunt, Rick Hunt and wife, Mark Hunt, Jody Hunt; stepchildren, Christopher Bock and wife, Gary Bock and wife, Bradley Bock and wife; step daughter-in-law, Kathy Bock; father, Phillip Galaviz; siblings, Phil Galaviz, Jr., Connie Chambers, Larry Galaviz and wife, Vicki Podoll, Mary Lou Hughes and husband, Cathy Kinder, Jerry Galaviz and wife; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; one stepgrandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Victoria; an infant brother; brother-in-law, Allyn Chambers; and stepson, E. J. Bock.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Park Place Christian Church, 2600 N. Adams, Hutchinson, with Pastor David Dubovich officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. today through Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Park Place Christian Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
