Eva Charline Dempsey's Obituary
Eva (Charline) Dempsey, 86, died June 28, 2016, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born Sept. 26, 1929, in rural Ellsworth County, to Marion and Lois (Rusk) Buckbee.
Charline retired in 1985 from Dillons as the bakery manager.
On Sept. 26, 1948, she married Jack Dempsey in Wichita. He died July 20, 1994. Charline is survived by: her sons, Daryl Dempsey of Las Vegas, Nev., and Martin Dempsey and wife Janna of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Bruce Dempsey; and sister, Phyllis Rowland.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2016, at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Pittman officiating. The casket will remain closed. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
