INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - Eva Ilean Kirchoff, 87, died July 23, 2009, at Center Point Hospital, Independence, Mo.
She was born November 20, 1921, in Pawnee City, Neb., the daughter of Floyd J. and Irene B. Dort Wilson.
She worked for Gibson's Department Store, retiring after 26 1/2 years. She was a member of Park Place Christian Church, where she was a Sunday School Secretary and worked in the nursery for 16 years. She was also a member of the Retired Gibson's Employees Coffee Club, and past president of the VFW Auxiliary in Garden City. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she moved to Independence, Mo., eight years ago.
On October 15, 1939, she married Loren W. Kirchoff in Pawnee City, Neb. He died March 21, 1988.
Survivors include: daughter, Kathy Elcock of Overland Park, KS.; sister, Willadean Merrill of Valley Center, CA.; grandsons, Wyatt Rosner of Overland Park, KS, and Pastor Dustin Rosner and wife, Joli, of Birmingham, Alabama; and great-grandchildren, Ryli, Silas and Malacki Rosner.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Leroy Wilson, and three sisters, Maxine Sherwin, Betty Huber and Carol Bigler.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Park Place Christian Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Dustin Rosner and the Rev. Dr. Kim Biery presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
