INMAN - Evan Jantz, 92, died March 14, 2009, at Pleasantview Home, Inman. He was born Nov. 14, 1916, in Las Animas, Colo., the son of Jonas T. and Ann Unruh Jantz.

A resident of the Hutchinson area since 1965, he was a retired farmer and custom harvester.
He belonged to South Hutchinson Mennonite Church.

On March 31, 1940, he married Susan Unruh in McPherson County. She died March 25, 1994.

Survivors include: sons, Galen and wife Carol, Inman, and Allen and wife Feryl, Galva; daughters, Beverly Jantz, Albuquerque, N.M., and Carol Haywood and husband Richard, Lake Kiowa, Texas; a brother, Harvey, Moundridge; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Cleo Jantz, and granddaughter, Ebonee Lyn Jantz.

Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday March 18, 2009, in North Inman Cemetery, Inman, with the Rev. Dan Dahlke and the Rev. Howard Wagler presiding. Memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday March 18, 2009, at South Hutchinson Mennonite Church, with the Rev. Dan Dahlke and the Rev. Howard Wagler presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at South Hutchinson Mennonite Church.
