Evans Glenn Freese, 86, died Feb. 26, 2006, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born Jan. 21, 1920, in rural Tonkawa, Okla., the son of Reid and Mary Pearl Hetrick Freese. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1938 and Kansas State in 1949. A resident of Hutchinson for 51 years, he was an engineer at Cessna of Hutchinson, retiring in 1983 after 43 years. He was an inventor and held six patents in Cessnaís name.
He belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church and was a charter member of Western Investment Club. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Corporal from 1944 to 1946 in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
On Aug. 14, 1954, he married Marilyn Ruth Williams in Waverly. She survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Paula Nyman and husband, William E., Overland Park; a brother, Noel Reid Freese, Lees Summit, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Caroline, Paige, Rebekah and David Nyman.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Olen.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Nick Warner presiding. Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Highlands Cemetery, Ottawa, with military graveside rites conducted by the Fort Riley honor guard. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
