Evelyn I. Lininger, 86, died May 26, 2011, at Thorne Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.

She was born March 14, 1925, in Pratt, Ks, the daughter of Ferman L. and Hulga M. Baker Young.

Evelyn attended grade school in Byers, KS, then high school in Elk Falls, KS. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1943. She worked for Hutchinson National Bank and later as a secretary for Eaton Corporation for 23 and a half years, retiring in 1990. She was a former treasurer of the Prosperity Sharing Sisters Club.
On Jan. 20, 1947, she married Stanley Lininger in Lyons, Kansas. He died April 27, 1988.

Survivors include: nieces, Sandra K. Lyon and husband Troy of Doniphan, Neb., Patricia A. McAllister of Grand Island, Neb., LaVone Lininger, and Shirleann Wagoner and husband Martin, all of Clarinda, Iowa; three nephews, Roger Lininger of California, Gary Lininger and wife Margaret, and Galen Lininger, all of New Market, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Kenneth Young.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Chapel, with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Towers, in care of Elliott Mortuary.
