Evelyn Arlene Martin, 96, died Friday, June 23, 2017, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was born April 15, 1921, in Sylvia, to Roy Stanley and Mary Elizabeth (Schrock) Ball.

In 1941, Evelyn graduated from Bethany High School, Bethany, Oklahoma. She worked for 11 years at Robert's Sporting Goods Store, in the men's department. Evelyn enjoyed camping, the outdoors, square dancing, ballroom dancing, and wintering in Texas. She was a member of Journey@South Hutchinson.

On August 23, 1941, she married Otho E. 'Bud' Martin in Dodge City. He died May 20, 1996, after 54 years of marriage.

Survivors include: son, Richard Martin and wife Nancey of Aurora, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Ed Ball and Kenneth Ball; and son, Larry Martin.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Eric Miller officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
