Evelyn F. Myers, 87, died Aug. 9, 2016, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. She was born Aug. 17, 1928, in Partridge, to Henry and Milly (Massoni) Koestel.

Evelyn graduated from Partridge High School in 1946. She worked as a clerk and cashier for S.H. Kress, Duckwall's, and Westlake Hardware on North Main Street, retiring in 1997.

She married Howard G. Myers Sr. June 19, 1949, in Hutchinson. He died Dec. 18, 1955. Evelyn is survived by: sons, Howard Myers Jr. and wife Gwen of South Hutchinson, William Myers and wife Florence of Hutchinson; grandson, Joshua Myers and wife Lori; step grandchildren, Sheryl Hamby, Christi Evans, and Travis Randol; two great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and a step great great-grandchild.

She was the last one in her family to be born and the last one in her family to pass away, being preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Clifford, Albert, Walter, and Robert; sisters, Mabel Ball, Irene Hirst, Annabell Conrad, Dorothy Covert, Ethel Krug, and Viola Bontrager.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at Partridge Cemetery, with the Reverend R. Samuel Askew officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
