Evelyn Thompson, 87, died March 28, 2009, at Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson.

She was born May 16, 1921, in Conway, the daughter of Izella and Samantha I. Ring Rathbun. She attended Adela Hale Business College, Hutchinson. A resident of Hutchinson, she was a homemaker.

She belonged to Grace Bible Church.

On Jan. 18, 1946, she married Charles Allen Thompson in Hutchinson. He died Feb. 21, 1964.

Survivors include: sons, David L., Tulsa, Okla., Dan T. and wife Jan, Hutchinson, and Charles A. and wife Patti, Hutchinson; daughters, Judy Foy and husband Dana, Wichita, Pat Gordon and husband Charles, Russellville, Ark., and Vickie Popejoy and husband Glen, Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Margie Eikleberry, Hutchinson; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and eight sisters.

Graveside service 9:30 a.m. Wednesday April 1, 2009, in Monitor Church Cemetery, northwest of Inman. Memorial service 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Grace Bible Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Chuck Finster presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present to receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
