Evelyn Ann Wells, 86, died Nov. 12, 2013, at Hospice House. She was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Bison, Kan., to Stephen and Searphine (Steckline) Schaffer.

On Jan. 10, 1946, she married Donald Edward Wells in Hutchinson. He died Sept. 27, 2000. She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Evelyn was a homemaker, having raised four children. She worked at Zephyr Manufacturing for 25 years, and retired from Wal-Mart after ten years as receiving clerk.

Survivors include: two sons, John Wells and wife Kate of Bend, Ore., and Alan Wells and wife Kathi of Hutchinson; daughter, Dawnetta Park and husband Jerry of Wichita; sister, Lillian Gardner of Pratt; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild. Evelyn was preceded in death by: son, Ronald Wells; two brothers, Lavern and Paul Schaffer.

Rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Elliott Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson, with Father Nicholas Voelker presiding. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. The casket will not be open at the church. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
