Evelyn M. Yutzy's Obituary
Evelyn Marie Whitecotton Yutzy, 80, died June 18, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Garden City, the daughter of Oliver Whitecotton and Thelma Thompson Whitecotton Martin. A resident of Hutchinson since 1951, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
On Dec. 29, 1956, she married Mahlon R. Yutzy in Newton. He died March 24, 1996.
Survivors include: her children, Diana Strawn and Gary McVey, both of Hutchinson, Jack Yutzy, Kalispell, Mont., William McVey, Hutchinson, Barbara "Bobbie" Hirst, Holyrood, Roger Yutzy, Rhonda Janie Yutzy and Roy Yutzy, all of Hutchinson; a brother, Charles Martin, Hutchinson; two sisters, Joetta Hankins, Orting, Wash., and Sue Mendoza, Hutchinson; 27 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Knight; a brother, Roy Whitecotton; four sisters, Ruth Ryan, Opal Harsh, Reta Chernick and Sherry Davis; and three grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Jeff Coleman presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
