Everett Lloyd "Ev" Harman, 83, died June 1, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.
He was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Garden City, the son of Hiram Jasper and Lydia Viola Wells Harman.
He graduated in 1944, from Garden City High School, and attended Salt City Business College. He was a retired realtor partner with Crawford Harman Realtors.
He belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church, Duo Sunday School Class, he had been a past member of the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce, Rotary International, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68, and was the president twice for the Hutchinson Board of Realtors. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On Aug. 6, 1946, he married Maybelle Crabb in Dodge City. She died April 29, 1985. On May 1, 1999, he married Josephine L. Mock Shulda in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: daughters, Vicki Jo Biggs and husband Tom, Los Alamos, N.M., and Patricia Kay Lorenz and husband Kevin, Lawrence; stepchildren, Emily Buscher and husband Brad, Evans, Colo., and Laura Shulda, Kansas City; sisters, Edna Cox, Sublette; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Harman, Garden City; a grandson, Christopher Orlando; and step-grandchildren, Alyssa Lorenz and Luke Buscher.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Reuben and Glenn Harman, and sisters, Lula Ward, Elma Mangan and Elsie Crowley.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday June 5, 2009, at Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Pat Ault-Duell presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday June 4, 2009. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
