Obituary

Fae Elland, 95, died Feb. 19, 2007, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.

She was born Nov. 7, 1911, in Bucklin, the daughter of Charles and Nellie Dellinger Redfield. She was a 1929, graduate of Bucklin High School, Bucklin. A resident of Hutchinson since 1961, moving from Garden City, she was a homemaker and had been a beautician in Bucklin.

She belonged to Park Place Christian Church, a member of the Sweet Adelines and HCC Faculty Wives and Retired Teachers.

On Dec. 27, 1936, she married Dr. Andrew H. "Andy" Elland in Bucklin. He died April 27, 1988.

Survivors include: a son, the Rev. Jim Elland and wife, Beth, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; a daughter, Karen Unruh and husband, Don, Hutchinson; a brother, Duane Redfield, Canby, Ore.; a sister, June Hanne, Manhattan; five grandchildren, Michael Unruh, Gary (Stacie) Unruh, Greg (Lori) Unruh, Jodi Elland and Mauri (Shawn) Elkins; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Merle, Harold and Llwyn Redfield; and a sister, Inez Neely.

Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Kim Biery presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the mortuary. Inurnment will be in Bucklin Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Park Place Christian Church or Sweet Adelines, both in care of the mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
