Fairy Leona Montgomery, 95, died January 4, 2024, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson, KS.  She was born January 6, 1928, in Sterling, KS, to George Stiggins and Florence (Tucker) Stiggins.

Fairy was a 1944 graduate of Hutchinson High School.  She was a longtime member of the South Hutchinson United Methodist Church.  On December 24, 1943, Fairy married Herman 'Bud' Max Montgomery at the South Hutchinson United Methodist Church.  They shared over 74 years of marriage, prior to his death on February 15, 2018.

Fairy is survived by: her sons, Ron and wife Sheryl Montgomery of Rogers, AR, Doug and wife Cindy Montgomery of Arlington, TX, and Don (and wife Terry, who died in 2009) of Clifton Park, NY; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Estelle Wiens of Pennsylvania and Mary Ann (Don) Taylor of Texas.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; brother, Teddy; and sisters, Grace Hutchison and Doris Brentlinger.

Private family service will be held. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2024, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.
