Obituary

Fannie Helmuth, 88, died Jan. 2, 2013, in Somerville, Tenn. She was born Jan. 16, 1924, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Daniel M. and Lizzie J. Borntrager Nisly.

Fannie married Eli B. Helmuth on Aug. 29, 1950. Fannie cared for her invalid husband, who had M.S. for many years. Eli passed away Aug. 6, 2000.

Due to her husband not being able to provide for the family's needs, she took baked goods and other items to sell at the Farmer's Market, with her specialties being angel food cakes and homemade noodles. She loved her church and being involved in helping others.

Survivors include: daughters, Lorene Helmuth of Pratts, Va., Wilma (Mrs. Richard) Graber of Hutchinson, Beth Helmuth of Hutchinson; sons, Raymond (wife Esther Byler) of Somerville, Tenn., Willard Helmuth of Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; great-granddaughter, Emily Sue Helmuth; two sisters; three brothers; her parents; and a sister-in-law.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at the Center Amish Mennonite Church with David M. Yoder and Dwight Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the West Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the church.
